An American narrator and writer, living and working in Tokyo, Japan
Hello! My name is Karen Haedrich.
Narration work is my passion. Growing up in Maine, I was inspired by the amazing voice actors that I heard in games, movies, and TV programs. Now, as an experienced and professional narrator, I have worked with a broad range of clients on various projects. Whatever your voice-over needs may be, I’m confident that I can provide the voice that you need to represent your brand.
Some project categories include:
・English educational programming
・Voiceovers for radio and TV
・Character voices for games and anime
・Bus/train line announcements
・Company promotional videos/In-house instructional videos
・Voiceovers for documentaries/educational videos
I majored in Creative Writing and minored in Japanese Language at Hamilton College in New York. I especially enjoy writing fiction and short stories. With my expertise, I can provide educational writing in English for all ages and levels. Please feel free to take a look at some of my published works below.

I am based in Tokyo, and I do most of my work here. Usually, I will arrange my schedule with the client, and then the client will book a studio in the Tokyo area (anywhere is fine) according to that schedule. If necessary, I can suggest a studio that has taken protective measures against Covid-19. Please contact me for details.
I charge by the hour for narration work. Please feel free to contact me for details.
I am registered at several agencies in Japan, but I can also work directly with clients, depending on the clients’ needs.
Yes, I can speak, read, and write in Japanese. Clients do not need to provide an interpreter for me in the studio. I minored in Japanese Language at Hamilton College in New York, studied abroad in Tokyo while in college, and I have lived in Japan for about fifteen years. Please feel free to contact me in Japanese.
Usually my recording schedule is fixed about two weeks to one month in advance. For example, if you have a recording one month from now, I can probably arrange my schedule fairly easily. If your recording is in two weeks or less, it will be more difficult for me to arrange my schedule.
No, unfortunately, I am not accepting on-camera work or MC work at this time.
